Surf Life Saving is one of my sports I like to do and I really enjoy it. I have done surf for 9 years and I started when I was about three years old. This is why I am choosing this as one of my home work challenges P5. Compete in a sport for an entire season.
My surf life saving group trains every day after school from 4:00 to 5:30pm and on Saturday and Sunday we train from 10am to 11:30 or to 12:00. I find training really fun because we do a mix between beach training and water training.
The surf life saving season starts at the start of October and finishes at the end of March. At the end of the surf life saving season there is the national Junior Championships called Ocean Athletes. It is heled at the Mount main beach over four days and clubs come from all over New Zealand. There are many events in this competition such as board race, beach sprints, beach flags, run swim run and surf race there are also many team events like board relay, beach relay, tube rescue, board rescue, 2k beach relay and Cameron relay.

What an intense sport but I can tell you really enjoy it. How did you go at this year's Ocean Athletes? I bet you are looking forward to October again this year, but the water must be pretty cold then for a while though. How many medals or ribbons have you won?
